For parents of children aged 1 to 13

Calm, consistent boundaries. Without the daily battles.

Private online sessions for you, or both of you, to help you set limits your child actually respects, stay calm when they push back, and enjoy family life again.

Sessions are online, so you can join from home once the children are in bed. Occasional in-person sessions are available in South West London.

Sound familiar?

You know what you want to say. It's the saying it that's hard.

Most parents I work with aren't short of advice. They're short of a plan that fits their child, and the confidence to hold the line when it gets loud. That's what we build together.

This isn't about doing it wrong. Every family hits a stage where what used to work stops working. It's about finding what works for this child, at this age.

Tantrums and meltdowns Bedtime and morning routines Screens and devices Sibling fights Saying no without a battle Whining, defiance and backchat Big feelings after nursery or school Staying calm when you're at your limit
How it works

Three simple steps

No jargon, no judgement, no one-size-fits-all rulebook. Just practical changes you can start the same day.

1

Free intro call

Twenty minutes to talk through what's going on at home and check we're a good fit. No pressure to continue.

2

Your first session

We look at your child's flashpoints, what's driving them, and what you've already tried. You leave with two or three clear changes to make this week.

3

Follow-up and fine-tuning

We check what worked, adjust what didn't, and build a routine that holds. Most families need between two and five sessions.

About Serap

Thirteen years in classrooms. Three years running a nursery. One approach: warm, clear and consistent.

I started out as a Turkish and Drama teacher in Istanbul, working with children from age 4 up to secondary school, including many with behavioural difficulties and families under strain. Drama taught me something that still shapes my work: children behave better when they feel safe, seen and clear about what's expected.

In 2023 I founded Unicorn Daycare in South West London, starting with one child. It's now a full nursery with a team of five and a five-star rating from parents. Every day I see how much a calm, predictable adult changes a child's behaviour, and I help parents become that adult at home.

I'm currently studying for a Postgraduate Certificate in Therapeutic Play Skills at the University of Chichester, deepening my understanding of children's emotional and developmental needs.

  • Teacher since 2007, across primary and secondary age groups
  • Founder and director of Unicorn Daycare, Mortlake, since 2023
  • Master's in Education Administration and Supervision
  • Postgraduate study in Therapeutic Play Skills (University of Chichester, 2025 to 2027)
  • Curriculum grounded in attachment theory and Montessori principles
  • Sessions in English or Turkish
My approach

Boundaries are a form of care

Children don't need a stricter parent or a softer one. They need a predictable one. My work draws on attachment theory, which shows that children thrive when they have a secure base: an adult who is warm, steady and clear about limits.

So we don't work on punishments or reward charts. We work on how you respond in the moment, how you set an expectation before the trouble starts, and how you stay connected to your child while still holding the line.

"Connection first, then correction. A child who feels understood will accept a limit far more easily than one who feels controlled." Serap Uygur
Common questions

Before you book

Do both parents need to join?

It helps, because consistency between adults matters. But one parent can start and share what we agree.

Does my child take part?

No. Sessions are for parents. You know your child best, and the changes that work start with how the adults respond.

How quickly will I see a difference?

Most parents notice a shift within the first week of trying the changes. Habits take longer, which is why follow-ups matter.

What ages do you work with?

Children from around 1 to 13. Toddler tantrums and pre-teen pushback look different, but the principles are the same.

Is this therapy?

No. This is practical support for parents, though it draws on my postgraduate training in therapeutic play. If I think your child would benefit from a specialist, I'll say so and help you find one.

What does it cost?

The intro call is free. I'll share session prices on that call so you can decide with no pressure.
